Tyrone Spong is sticking with World Series of Fighting.
The light heavyweight prospect signed a new multi-fight deal with the promotion on Thursday, WSOF executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz (pictured with Spong during Thursday's contract signing) informed MMAFighting.com. Spong had one fight left on his current contract. Terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
An accomplished kickboxer, the 28-year-old Spong (2-0) made his MMA debut in WSOF in Nov. 2012. Since then he's gone 2-0 in the promotion. He currently has a 73-6-1 (1 NC) record in kickboxing, and this new contract will allow him to continue to compete in kickboxing.
Spong is also under contract with the Glory kickboxing promotion and has expressed interest in trying his hand at boxing in the near future, as well.
Abdel-Aziz said Spong's next MMA fight had yet to be finalized.
