UFC Fight Night 35 results: Cole Miller subs Sam Sicilia; calls out Donald Cerrone

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

Watch Sam Sicilia's right hand, read the scouting report. It's lethal.

But it turned out the Cole Miller's right hand was the one that made the difference in their UFC Fight Night 35 bout. The submission specialist used several big rights to set up a rear-naked choke finish in the second round of their bout in suburban Atlanta.

After a back-and-forth first round which was conducted standing, Miller (21-8) popped Sicilia (12-4) with a pair of big right hands early in the second, which changed the complexion of their featherweight fight.

Sicilia withstood that barrage, but when Miller connected on another big right about a minute later, that was the beginning of the end. Miller got Sicilia to the mat and quickly moved him into position for the rear naked choke. The tapout came at 1:52 of the second round.

The win was the American Top Team standout's third in his past four fights, his 15th career submission win, and his 10th UFC win in 16 bouts dating back to 2007.

After the fight, Miller, who indicated he believes he broke his left hand during the fight, called out lightweight standout Donald Cerrone.

"It's you, Donald ‘Cowboy' Cerrone," the Georgia native said. "You said you want to come down to 145, come on down. I'll tell you what I'm going to do, I'll send Mike Dolce over to you and you can put the bill on me. He's going to tell you the same thing I'll tell you, lay off them cheeseburgers and them Twinkies, homie."
