Yoel Romero aims for another UFC win at UFC Fight Night 35. - Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

This is the UFC Fight Night 35 live blog for Yoel Romero vs. Derek Brunson, a middleweight bout at Wednesday night's UFC event at the The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga.

Romero, who is 2-0 in the UFC, will face Brunson, who is also 2-0 in the UFC, on the main card.

Round 1: Romero opens southpaw as does Brunson. Brunson shoots a double and gets Romero down, but Romero quickly scrambles to his feet. Brunson scores with an overhand left. Jab to the body for Romero, but he eats a huge head kick and still keeps standing. Romero switches stances, but mostly attacking from southpaw. Outside leg kick for Brunson. A wild scramble ensues between the two with both trying to get the back of the other and culminates in a clinch where Brunson generally got the better of the exchange.

Round 2: Jab to the body drops Brunson, but Brunson seems to suggest it was low. Replay shows it was deflected low, but the bout resumes. Brunson scores with a short left as he moves forward. Brunson eats a knee in the clinch, but scores a takedown as Romero gets sloppy with his positioning. Brunson, from half guard, moves his way to mount and Romero is absolutely flat on his back. Romero finds his way back to half guard and then his feet. Brunson sprawls from an attempt and stuffs it, but eats a right hand for his efforts.

Round 3: One-two scores for Brunson as Romero pursues. Romero easily stuffs a lazy takedown from Brunson, but they're both separated and working at distance. Crippling left hook from Romero finds the mark and stumbles Brunson, but the American is back on his feet and scores with a knee of his own on Romero. Romero has Brunson hurt and Romero is all over him and Brunson goes down. Romero is taking his time, picking his shots, but Brunson is just covering up. Romero is elbowing over and over and finally the ref calls it. Very late stoppage.
