In the first round of their UFC Fight Night 28 bout Wednesday, Francisco Trinaldo kicked Piotr Hallmann pretty much everywhere you can legally kick someone in a mixed martial arts fight.
But not only did the Poland native withstand everything Hallmann could dish out, but he rallied to finish Trinaldo in the second round of their lightweight fight in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

In the opening round, Trinaldo peppered Hallmann with body kicks, including a nasty liver shot which dropped Hallmann to the mat. But Hallmann withstood the assault, as Trinaldo simply wasn't able to finish what he started.
In the second round, Hallmann looked like a different fighter. Working from half-guard, he maneuvered into position and worked his way into a Kimura. Hallmann tapped at 3:50.
In his UFC debut, Hallmann (14-1) won his ninth straight fight. All but one of his wins are by finish. Trinaldo (13-3) had a two-fight win streak snapped.
