Takeya Mizugaki aims for his third straight UFC win at UFC Fight Night 27. - Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

This is the UFC Fight Night live blog for Takeya Mizugaki vs. Erik Perez, a bantamweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at Bankers Life Fiendhouse in Indianapolis.

Mizugaki, who has won three of his last five fights, will face Perez, who has won all three of his fights in the Octagon, on the main card.

Round 1: Gary Copeland is the referee for this bantamweight bout. Perez whiffs on a high kick, then connects with a left hand. Mizugaki connects on a right to the button a split second before Perez  lands a punch. Perez throws a flying knee which lands. He tries a second one and Mizugaki pushes him backwards. Perez shoots a double and scores the takedown. Mizugaki gets back to his feet, but Perez sticks with him and gets him back to the mat. Mizugaki back to his feet again. Two minutes left. Perez catches a Mizugaki attempt at a body kick and pushes him backwards into the fence. He scores another takedown. He catches Mizugaki with a knee as they stand. Now it's Mizugaki's turn for a takedown. Perez back to his feet and they clinch as the round ends. MMAFighting scores the round for Erik Perez, 10-9.

Round 2: Perez throws a halfhearted flying knee and Mizugaki greets him with a two-punch combo. Perez fans on a spinning back kick. Mizugaki lands a solid straight right hand. Perez's pace has slowed since the first round. Perez grabs a leg for a takedown but can't follow through. Mizugaki throws a knee as Perez shoots in. Two minutes in. Mizugaki opens up with a three-punch combo and then sprawls a takedown attempt. Perez is still grinding away against the fence, though. Perez still holding a leg. Mizugaki drops to one knee. Perez, whose nose is bloodied, lands a knee as Mizugaki gets up. Perez walks into a big right hand. Perez throws a knee and misses with a spinning back kick. Mizugaki sprawls a late takedown attempt.  MMAFighting scores the round for Takeya Mizugaki, 10-9 (19-19 overall).

Round 3: Mizugaki is solid on his counters in the opening minute. One such exchange leads to a Mizugaki takedown. Back to their feet. Perez goes for a takedown and lands it this time. Mizugaki gets up and eats a knee to the midsection. They clinch awhile and Mizugaki scores a takedown. Perez tries to escape, but Mizugaki gets his back. He gets Perez in a tight guillotine, but Perez escapes, gets back to his feet and starts winging punches. Now Perez scores a takedown. He's not doing much with his position, though. One minute left. Standing again. Mizugaki bodylocks Perez. A flurry from Mizugaki in the closing seconds. MMAFighting scores the round for Takeya Mizugaki, 10-9 (29-28 overall).
