This is just a post reflecting on the result of the main event from UFC 162 last Saturday which I had witnessed at a local Buffalo Wild Wings. Both Weidman and Silva are great fighters. Initially, I felt that Silva pulled a page out of heavy weight competitor Alistair Overeem's book in Overeem's recent memorable fight against Antonio Silva. However through thinking about it just a little bit more, I'm unsure if Silva may have been rattled by Weidman's first successful take down, along with the blows from the top in conjunction with the submission attempts in round one. What may have seemed as show boating to some may have just been a best effort on Anderson's part in attempting to acheive an expanded zone of comfort around Weidman in round 2. As we all know, it was Weidman's night that night. I look forward to the rematch between these two. Will definitely be seeing it. Anyway, this is my first fan post. Go easy on me guys.
