A rare Friday night UFC event is in the planning stages, and appears to be headed for the promotion's calendar, according to sources with knowledge of the plans.
The possibility of a Nov. 15 date was first reported by Brazilian MMA reporter Guilherme Cruz.
The event would likely air as the fourth edition of UFC on FOX Sports 1.
A source told MMA Fighting that the frontrunner for the event is likely Goiânia, the capital city of Goiâs, a state located in the central part of the country near the federal capital of Brasilia. The city has a population of over 2 million in its metropolitan area and houses an arena that holds about 15,000 spectators.
The location however, is not locked in, and remains to be determined.
The Nov. 15 date is a night before UFC 167 in Las Vegas, an event which is expected to feature Georges St-Pierre attempting to fend off the challenge of Johny Hendricks.
If the event does take place in Brazil as planned, it will be the sixth of the year in the South American nation.
