This is a common opinion today, but I wanted to add my 2 cents.
A few years ago I would have considered myself a big Vitor Belfort fan, I remembered cheering him on coming into his fight with Silva, celebrating his victories over guys like Franklin and Johnson, but his last 2 victories over Belfort and now Rockhold have left a sour taste in my mouth.
The TRT issue is brought up in any fighter who is prescribed it has an upcoming fight, but no fighter on the list of known users has had so many changes in their look and fight style as Vitor has, the last two fights he has pressured and eventually stopped guys who are known for relentless cardio, he looks like the young berserker who blitzed guys in his early 20s, a different fighter from the one who fought Anthony Johnson a year ago.
Belforts recent success may be due to hard work paying off, but with his past and his TRT prescription there will be constant doubt over his abilities and whether he is (legally) cheating the system.
A few fan posts have suggested that the winner of the Anderson Silva/Chris Weidman fight should refuse to compete with Belfort unless it is in Nevada, and I support this. Belfort needs to face up to the doubters and show that the TRT is not the thing revitalising his career, otherwise he could fight, and even win the title, in Brazil and the doubters will continue to voice their opposition.
