Coca Cola Caper

Upon seeing Jonesy's tweet pic one has to wonder what was also at stake at UFC 159.

It all began with Chael discussing his after weigh in rituals stating that Mike Dolce gave him berries when he would usually have a Coca Cola and some pasta for his first meal before Mike became his nutritionist. Take it for what it is worth but Chael saying the brand's name is a little suspect.

Interestingly enough Chael decides to pop a can of Coca Cola at the weigh ins making sure the logo is perfectly positioned for a money shot by the cameras. All eyes up front.167624348-chael-sonnen-drinks-a-coke-during-the-ufc-gettyimages_medium

Sonnen may have lost more than a title fight that night but it might not have been the first time.

Looking back to UFC 117 Chael was sporting Nike to a point where some wondered if he was headed for a Nike sponsorship. He even trained at a Nike owned facility. Not long after Sonnen came up short Nike in turn sponsored his achilles heel Anderson Silva.

Then again maybe I am just looking too far in to this because Chael P. Sonnen, the highest paid athlete in the game, doesn't need no stinkin sponsors.
