It seems like in every event there are bad decisions being made by the referees, most recently Travis Browne landing a couple of blows to the back of the head of his opponent as he was falling down.
As a fan viewing the event i needed to see the video replay at a different angle to see the tko. It would be impossible for a referee in the octagon to see a fight from every angle.
In some Asian MMA events the ref had a camera & a earpiece attached to him to communicate with other officials. As the UFC is the premier MMA organisation they should have a 2nd official watching the fight via a monitor & communicating with the ref in the octagon.
If this was possible it would help end some controversial decisions & take some of the pressure of the referee officiating the bout, as the 2nd referee watching fight via monitor would be able to cover the main officials blind-spots & if the video coverage at the time of a flashpoint in the fight was shown in a bad angle, a video replay would come into play.
(The technology is available the UFC should use it.)
