Jordan Mein replaces Dan Hardy, faces Matt Brown on FOX show

It took Jordan "Young Gun" Mein 34 professional fights to finally reach the UFC. From there, it took him less than one round before he became the first man to ever finish Dan Miller this past Saturday night at UFC 158 in Montreal.

But it won't take the 23-year-old welterweight long for his second UFC fight. Mein will be replacing an injured Dan Hardy on UFC on FOX 7, when he faces Matt "The Immortal" Brown in a fight that will open the network broadcast of the show.

The UFC on twitter confirmed the Hardy injury and Mein as the replacement on Thursday night.

The show takes place on April 20 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

Mein (27-8) comes into the fight having won nine out of ten fights. His only loss was a split decision to Tyron Woodley.

Brown (16-11) is nine years older. The former cast member of The Ultimate Fighter season seven, had a big year in 2012. He went 4-0 last year with wins over Chris Cope, Stephen Thompson, Luis Ramos and Mike Swick. His win over Swick on the Dec. 8 FOX show in Seattle earned him another network fight headlined by UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson vs. Gilbert Melendez.

Both men are finishers, as Brown has finished 14 of his 16 wins, with nine knockouts and five submissions. Mein, who had his first kickboxing match at the age of 11, has finished 22 of his 27 wins, with 15 knockouts and seven submissions.
