Republican South Dakota Legislator and Pastor Steve Hickey commented in a recent post on his blog and in a videotaped Legislative Coffee House meeting on Saturday that MMA is the Child Porn of Sports He is petitioning for support to amend Senate Bill 84 which supports the regulation of MMA along with Boxing in South Dakota under an Economic Development plan, a move he considers a waste of money and an endorsement of violence. He is seeking to have MMA excluded and made illegal but has no qualms with Boxing regulation. WMMA standout Shayna Baszler tweeted his blog post to her followers and the response was immediate. She wrote an in depth rebuttal citing facts and statistics refuting some of his claims regarding deaths in MMA. Soon a flood of comments came along supporting Baszler's position and MMA and he responded at one point with "Talk to the hand" a comment he soon afterward deleted. Later Saturday he blocked further comments to his blog.
