John Dodson injured, out of UFC on FOX 9 bout against Scott Jorgensen

Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE

UFC on FOX 9's injured riddled card suffered another hit Tuesday night, as a last-second injury forced No. 2 ranked flyweight contender John Dodson out of his scheduled bout against Scott Jorgensen.

UFC officials announced the news via Twitter. Dodson (15-6) was already a replacement for Jorgensen's initial opponent, Ian McCall, who withdrew in late October due to injury.

A third replacement opponent for Jorgensen (14-7) is expected to be announced shortly.

The No. 7 ranked UFC bantamweight, Jorgensen, 31, hopes for a successful fresh start at flyweight after dropping three of his previous four contests, all against top-ranked opposition Renan Barao, Eddie Wineland and Urijah Faber.

UFC on FOX 9 takes place December 14, 2013 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, CA.
