Round 1: The referee is Gary Copeland. Exchange of legkicks. Carmouche tries to come in over top with a left, but narrowly misses. Davis trying to time things out. She's waving her left out there, and throws a right. One-offs so far, not a lot of follow-up. Carmouche comes in with inside leg kick, and Davis catches it momentarily to put Carmouche off balance. Davis swivels into a leg kick off a deke of her right hand. Carmouche so far slipping the punches. Davis doing a good job of consistently kicking Carmouche's lead leg. And again. This time Carmouche favors the leg. Those are starting to hurt. Davis punishing that right leg. She's also getting a little tentative to move forward. Now Davis fakes the leg kick and comes over top with a combination, which is fruitful. She eats a punch on the parting. Good flurry. Now Carmouche returns a good leg kick on Davis, and they end in the center. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Davis, 10-9.

Round 2: Davis stalks in right off. Carmouche circles, as Davis tries to find a home for the right hand. She doesn't that time. Carmouche now on her bike, rolling around the cage. Davis does still land another leg kick to Carmouche's right leg. And again. It's definitely factoring into things here. Davis is bleeding over her eye from a big right hand, but she just put together a great combination on the fence that rocked Carmouche. She kicks the leg again, too. But the blood is coming down Davis' face now pretty badly. Good exchange there, and Carmouche lands a swinging right. Still, for her efforts, she ate a big punch too. Davis remains the aggressor, ever as her face bleeds profusely. The whole left side of Davis' face is red. Another inside leg kick from Davis, and again. Carmouche limping. And she's eating punches, too, because she can't get out of the way as easily. Now Davis throws Carmouche to the ground with a minute to go, and goes into side control. Shoulder strikes from Davis. She uses her elbow to push Carmouche's head down, but can't find space to work ground and poiund. Just as the round comes to an end, Carmouche reverses and lands a couple of big shots. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Davis, 10-9 (20-18 overall)

Round 3: Alexis Davis comes out like she was let go from a bowstring, putting Carmouche right back onto the fence. She's working knees into Carmouche's thighs, and they look painful. Davis planting her head into Carmouche's shoulder and landing inside stuff with the dirty boxing. Carmouche breaks, and lands a knee. But right back to the fence they go, with Davis in control. She is working for a takedown with double underhooks, but before she can get anywhere the referee separates them. Good exchange in the middle. Davis that time took the brunt of it. Carmouche is tough, even wobbled with the leg that's been pulverized for 12 minutes. Davis pushes Carmouche into the cage and goes to work again with short punches and an elbow. Just suffocating Carmouche, who looks tired. Davis has slowed too, but her game plan is the same. She's coming in high and low with the jab at the center with a minute to go. This is Davis' fight. Carmouche can't put a lot of pressure on her right leg, but she continues to roll to her left. Davis' foot has to be hurting, too, from all the kicks -- and she adds one more there. As the fight closes, good skirmish in the center. MMA Fighting scores R3 for Davis, 10-9 (30-27 for Davis overall)
