UFC 167 results: Tyron Woodley knocks out Josh Koscheck

LAS VEGAS -- Either Tyron Woodley is legit or Josh Koscheck is on his way out. Probably a little bit of both.

Woodley blitzed Koscheck in the first round of their welterweight fight Saturday night at UFC 167 and finished him with a pair of big right hands. The time was 4:38 of the first round.

Woodley set the tone early by landing a right hand and then followed up with another which dropped Koscheck.

While Koscheck managed to get his way back to his feet, it's clear the veteran can't take a punch like he used to. Woodley, an American Top Team Fighter out of Missouri, continued to tag Koscheck.

Finally he drilled him with the huge right to the jaw which put him down.

Woodley said he expected a firefight.

"We're too similar, we have same height, same reach, same background," Woodley said. "Koscheck is tough, I watched him on the TUF show. We were going to stand in the middle and steal the show."

Woodley improved to 12-2, with eight wins via finish. Koscheck dropped to 19-8 with his third straight loss, the past two via knockout.
