LAS VEGAS -- After Thales Leites and Ed Herman put everyone to sleep, the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena was ready for some action.

Enter Donald Cerrone and Evan Dunham, winners of many Fight of the Night bonuses.

The two put on a memorable scrap in the first round of their UFC 167 lightweight fight Saturday night before Cerrone finished it in the second. "Cowboy" finished the job with a triangle choke at 3:49.

Cerrone nearly finished the fight early in the first round with a big flurry of punches and knees. Dunham hit the mat and Cerrone rained down big right hands. But the tough Dunham managed to get out of harm's way and continue.

Still, while Dunham was game, Cerrone showed no letup, landing a huge knee to the head on a break which cut Dunham over his left eye.

Midway through round two, Cerrone scored a takedown, and while he found himself on the bottom, it didn't take long to work into the winning triangle.

Cerrone lobbied for Submission of the Night honors after the win.

"Yeah when I got my triangle and he leaned over, I knew it was done," he said. "An extra $50 grand sounds real nice, doesn't it?

Cerrone (21-6, 1 NC) won for the second time in his past three fights; Dunham (13-5) has dropped three of four.
