In all this hysteria over Rousimar Palhares allegedly holding a leg lock too long, I haven't heard anyone say anything critical about Kim's knockout of Erick Silva.
What is the justification for a fighter striking an opponent after delivering a knockout punch?
Is teeing off on a helpless opponent less dangerous than a holding a leg lock too long?
If the argument is that the strikes are delivered in the heat of battle with adrenaline playing a factor, wouldn't the same logic also apply to the fighter's state of mind when he goes for a fight finishing submission?
Hey, I love to see an entertaining knockout as much as the next guy, but to make all this fuss about late submission releases while turning a blind eye to late hits on unconscious or defenseless opponents is truly the epitome of hypocrisy.
