The fight week train rolls on as Bellator stages the second show of their Spike TV tenure tomorrow (Bellator 86) and UFC puts on their second UFC on FOX event in as many months.

With both events, the anticipation is high, but probably not as high as the event that preceded it. Mo Lawal has been pushed heavily by Bellator and Spike and after his tumultuous 2012, he finally returns to MMA action tomorrow. Champion Ben Askren has his fair share of detractors, but he, too, returns after competing only once in 2012. Still, Bellator 85 had a ton of hype during fight week, so much so that it bumped UFC coverage. There's much less of that this week.

UFC is in a similar boat. UFC on FOX 5 had a massive amount of hype (for a FOX-UFC show) and was hotly anticipated. To be sure, there's excitement about Saturday's event, but it's disingenuous to state there's as much for this card as there was for the previous one.

I'm sure both shows will be a success, but things are coming back to earth a bit.
