This is the UFC on FX 7 live blog for Thiago Tavares vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov, a lightweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Ibirapuera Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Tavares, who has won three of his past four fights, will face Nurmagomedov, who is 2-0 in his UFC career, on the main card.

Round 1: The referee is Dan Miraglioota. Both fighters open orthodox with Tavares stalking. Shovel punch from the lead hand of the Russian finds the mark. Leaping left hook drops Tavares and now the Russian is bombing on a Tavares desperate to stay alive. Elbows from half guard and Tavares is almost done. A few more punches do the trick and the ref steps in. Probably too many punches on a late stoppage there.
