Chat Wrap: UFC Injuries, TUF: India, UFC 153 Matchmaking Discussion

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

For an executive who is self-admittedly emotional in times of frustration, you have to hand it to UFC President Dana White. The guy has the patience of Job in dealing with fighter injuries. I have to admit his public poise strikes the right tone, opening with partial disbelief but quickly pivoting to Mr. Fix It while the rest of us are still absorbing the impact. That is poise, folks.

Still, we've got a serious problem on our hands. And when I say 'we', I mean 'we', the entire MMA community. It's the UFC's job to fix or mitigate this injury crisis. We couldn't even if we tried. They are truly the only ones who can exact some sort of solution to this mess. But unaddressed, the injury problem affects the entire health of the sport. Everyone should, to the best of their ability, try to understand what's causing the issue and push toward measures that ameliorate the current predicament. In short, we've got to lean on the UFC for a solution, but help them along the way in anyway we can.

Join me at 1 p.m. ET today to talk about the injury crisis in modern MMA and what can be done about it in today's live chat. What are the causes? What are the solutions? Is there anyway to address the problem? We can also discuss how to fix the now ravaged UFC 153 fight card, 'The Ultimate Fighter: India', and anything else on your mind. Even Jon Jones discussion isn't off the table. And thanks to the technology of Google +, now you can be a part of the chat.

As is customary, I'll post the video window here as the event draws near and I'll answer any questions you may have if you post them in the comments section below.

If you want to join me on Google+ and let everyone see your face, now you can. Go to today's livechat Google + page. If you're interested, drop a note and I'll add you to my circles. Once you're in, I can invite you through to the chat. Just want to participate in the comments? No problem. Participate however you feel most comfortable.

Everything kicks off at 1 p.m. ET. Talk to you then.
