Starting with Jon Fitch vs. Erick Silva, what an awesome fight by both guys. I was mouthing off about how Fitch would lay on Silva, for the win, and how wrong was I? Both showed will to win and I'll never have a harsh word to say about Jon Fitch ever again
I believe the UFC lit a fire under his ass, and that is what was needed. They made Fitch feel like he wasn't doing enough to stay around and that may have been what sparked the fire that roasted the momentum of the Brazilian, Silva.
Next fight for Fitch, well I hear the Ellenberger talk. But hold it right there, lets give Strikeforce Welterweight Champion, Nate Marquardt a stiff test, after all he's got nobody interesting, even to beat. Jon Fitch was in a one sided war with Pierre as President of the org. Dana White stated during the post fight scrum(here).
The careers of Jon Fitch and Nate "The Great are absolutely going to waste! They are two of the best fighters at that weight class, if no title implications are involved for them, whats the point?
Demian Maia, after his latest performance at Welterweight, has made a case that he is here to stay(170 lbs). So why not give him a huge test? Jake Ellenberger just fits, big fight for both guys! Also, indeed it would be a better stylistic clash than Fitch-Ellenburger...zzzzzzzz
For Antonio Rodrigo Nog, lots of talk about his retirement, which is what I wouldn't mind seeing at all either. But lets keep in mind that he was just embarrassed, and twisted like a pretzel by Frank Mir. So asking for him to quit might be a little selfish of us.
I've heard talk of Struve vs. BigFoot, hold that thought a few moments and bear with me...
How about Bigfoot vs. Frank Mir? That would be a great match up and is the only fight left for Mir that would put him back in title contention...for Bigfoot, he can wait around a while and soak in his first UFC win, while Mir heals up his injury.
That's all folks, hope you all agree, if not...let me have it in the comments below. Tell me I am full of shit
