UFC 140 Live Blog: Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Updates

TORONTO -- This is the UFC 140 live blog for Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, a heavyweight bout on tonight's UFC pay-per-view from the Air Canada Centre.

Nogueira is looking to avenge a second-round TKO loss to Mir from UFC 92 in December 2008. Nogueira had injuries leading up to that fight and Mir wants to erase any excuses by beating Nogueira for a second time.

The live blog is below.

Round 1: Herb Dean is the referee for this one. He starts us off and Nogueira goes right to work with his jab, backing Mir up against the fence. Mir swings a big right and Nogueira ducks under for the clinch. Mir turns him around puts his back to the fence, but they change position several times before Mir gets a leg trip takedown. Nog is back up quickly and surprisingly able to muscle Mir around in close. Knees in the clinch by Nogueira, and Mir is on wobbly legs. Nogueira stings him with a jab and Mir goes for a desperate shot that lands him face-down. Nogueira pounds away at the side of his head while Mir reaches for a leg. Nogueira goes for a choke and Mir manages to recover somehow. Mir gets the top position in the scramble and looks for a kimura. Nogueira rolls him over, but Mir uses the kimura to roll him over again. Mir wrenches the arm until it gives. Nogueira taps meekly. Something in there snapped. Nogueira lays flat and lets his arm fall uselessly to his side.

Frank Mir def. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via submission (kimura) at 3:38 of round one
