UFC 128 Live Blog: Luiz Cane vs. Eliot Marshall Updates

NEWARK, NJ -- This is the UFC 128 live blog for Luiz Cane vs. Eliot Marshall, a light heavyweight bout on the Spike TV portion of tonight's UFC 128 event from the Prudential Center.

Cane (10-3) lost his last two fights via first-round TKOs to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Cyrille Diabate. Marshall (10-2) returns to the UFC after three wins on local shows and as a replacement for the injured Karlos Vemola.

The live blog is below.

Round 1: Marshall shoots immediately, Cane has no problem side-stepping him. Cane peppering Marshall early with power punches. Marshall looks like he's a bit short on confidence on his takedowns, not fully committing. Cane drops Marshall with a punch. He unloads with a series of strikes on the grounded fighter, who tries to keep his wits. Ref Dan Miragliotta lets the action go, but Marshall is in big trouble. Any second now ... And after another hail of strikes, it's over.

Winner: Luiz Cane via TKO, Rd. 1 (2:15)
