This is the UFC 117 live blog for Clay Guida vs. Rafael dos Anjos, a lightweight bout on tonight's pay-per-view from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.Guida is coming off a win over Shannon Gugerty in March. Dos Anjos has won three straight fights in the UFC Octagon.

Round 1: Guida comes out bouncing like a pogo stick, as usual. Dos Anjos unleashes a sharp punch combo, and Guida responds with a head kick that lands with a smack. Dos Anjos backs Guida against the cage, but Guida punches his way out. Dos Anjos attempts the first takedown of the fight, somewhat surprisingly. Guida shrugs it off without much trouble and turns to pin Dos Anjos against the fence. He looks for a single-leg but Dos Anjos is defending well. They move back to the center of the cage and Dos Anjos misses with a head kick. Dos Anjos shoots for a double-leg, but Guida has no trouble stuffing it. Dos Anjos stings Guida with a punch combo and then finally gets a successful takedown against the fence in the final minute. He can't do anything with it, and Guida is up just before the round ends. MMA Fighting scores the round even, 10-10. That's right.
Round 2: The pace is frantic to start the second. These two seem so evenly matched thus far, it's hard to give either man the edge. Dos Anjos lands a nice inside leg kick, then tries one to the head that misses. Guida ducks under a left hook and puts Dos Anjos on the floor with a double-leg. Guida moves from guard to half-guard, but he's having trouble creating enough space to get a ground-and-pound attack going. He's looking for an arm triangle choke, but Dos Anjos sees it coming and takes the necessary precautions. The round ends with Guida back in guard and Dos Anjos looking a bit frustrated. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 Guida.
Round 3: Guida looks to be turning up the intensity in the third. He takes the center of the Octagon and fires off a punch combo that's mostly blocked. Moments later he gets in close and scoops Dos Anjos up for a big slam that gets the crowd's attention. Guida works from half-guard and squeezes Dos Anjos' head up against the fence. Dos Anjos taps, though it's hard to tell why. Looks like it might have been a neck crank aided by the fence, though Dos Anjos gets up holding his jaw tenderly.

Joe Rogan says in the post-fight interview that Guida broke Dos Anjos' jaw. I should mention here that Rogan is not a licensed physician.
