Jul 14, 2010 - 10-time UFC competitor and The Ultimate Fighter 4 veteran Rich Clementi will make his Bellator debut in front of hometown fans when the promotion arrives in New Orleans, La. for Bellator 28 on Sept. 9, MMAFighting.com has learned.
Clementi joins a growing list of former The Ultimate Fighter cast members competing in this upcoming third season of Bellator. John Kolosci (6), Mark Miller (9) and Shonie Carter (4) are all slated to fight at Bellator 25 in Chicago.
The highlight of Clementi's MMA career so far was a nice run in 2007 through mid 2008 when he won six straight fights, four of which were in the UFC. However, losses to Gray Maynard and Gleison Tibau pushed Clementi out of the organization by early 2009. Clementi, who was 5-5 in the UFC, has remained highly active on local cards, going 5-2 in a one-year period.
Bellator previously traveled to Louisiana in Monroe for Bellator 18 in May. For Bellator 28, a potential venue is the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts.
