Dream.15 Live Blog: Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Karl Amoussou Updates

This is the Dream.15 live blog for Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Karl Amoussou, a middleweight bout on tonight's Dream event from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

The new active face of the Yoshida Dojo, Nakamura, looks to string together his second straight win in a fight against Strikeforce veteran Amoussou.

The live blog is below.

Amoussou tries to intimidate the stone-faced Nakamura during the glove touch with a close-up stare down. Nakamura doesn't budge.

Round 1: Amoussou starts of active with a leg kick. He misses high kicks. Nakamura counters with two punches to back Amoussou off. Amoussou keeps a high frequency of strikes. Nakamura shoots in and scores the takedown one inute in. Amoussou closes his guard. Nakamura aggressively pursues side mount and Amoussou scrambles out. Back on their feet, an exchange sees Nakamura landing an uppercut that slows Amoussou into clinch. Amoussou tries to toss Nakamura but the judo expert lands on top of Amoussou's halfguard. Apparently having difficulty landing punches on his knees, Nakamura stands up for the ground and pound. Nakamura continues to go to work with punches inside the guard of Amoussou. Nakamura again tries to hop over to side, but Amoussou hips back into full guard. After around four minutes in that position the referee stands them up with a minute-and-a-half left and hands Amoussou a yellow card. Nakamura sneaks in a nice straight right. Amoussou has a cut on the cheek underneath his left eye. Amoussou throws a flying knee and they tie up in clinch.

MMAFighting.com gives the first round decisively to Nakamura. Under Unified MMA scoring, it would be 10-9 Nakamura.

Round 2: Nakamura comfortably boxing Amoussou. Amoussou looks for a jumping strike but is pushed off with a left hand by Nakamura. Nakamura looks for the takedown and Amoussou jumps into guard with a guillotine. Nakamura easily escapes and continues to score inside Amoussou's guard. The fight is stood up with a minute left and this time Nakamura draws a yellow card. Nakamura with a beautiful left to the body followed by the left to the face and finishes with a takedown with 30 seconds left in the fight.

Much improved striking from Nakamura. Nakamura will win this one for sure. Advantage Nakamura.
