TUF 11 Finale Live Blog: Matt Hamill vs. Keith Jardine Updates

LAS VEGAS -- This is the TUF 11 live blog for Matt Hamill vs. Keith Jardine, the light heavyweight and co-main event of tonight's live finale from the Palms Casino Resort.

Jardine will look to snap a three-fight losing streak against Hamill, who has compiled three straight wins.

The live blog is below.

Round 1: Hamill chases Jardine down against the fence and works some short uppercuts in the clinch. Jardine circles away, apparently content to try and contest this fight from long range. Jardine fires off some leg kicks, and Hamill isn't doing much to try and check them. Hamill presses forward behind his jab and Jardine counters with a hard uppercut. A few seconds later, a body kick from Jardine sends a resounding smack throughout the arena. Jardine comes forward with a punch combo and Hamill covers up, but doesn't seem too hurt by the shots. Hamill is losing almost all of the punching exchanges so far. He seems content to throw one punch at a time, but few of them are getting though as the round comes to a close. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-0 for Jardine.

Round 2: Hamill thinks about a takedown for the first time in the fight, but he doesn't commit to it and Jardine has no problem shrugging it off. Hamill throws two left hooks in a row, neither of which land, and Jardine responds with a thumping leg kick that absolutely lands. Hamill tries for another takedown and Jardine escapes. Hamill lands a couple of slow jabs, but they don't even change the expression on Jardine's face. Hamill comes forward and hurts Jardine in close. He follows with a high kick and Jardine looks a little unsteady. Hamill is going after Jardine now, but he stops and clutches his eye. It seems he was poked by Jardine in the exchange. We pause while the doctor has a look, but Hamill is cleared to continue. Referee Herb Dean takes a point away from Jardine, who is bloody and confused. Jardine comes out like a madman after the restart, but it's Hamill who's getting the better of the exchanges now. He gets a takedown against the fence, but Jardine gets back up. Jardine's face is a bloody mess as the round ends. MMA Fighting scores it 10-8 for Hamill after the point deduction.

Round 3: It takes little more than a jab from Hamill to get the blood flowing down Jardine's face again. He smacks a kick against Hamill's lead leg, and Hamill responds with a takedown, then nearly takes Jardine's back. Jardine struggles to get up, but Hamill puts him right back down again, briefly. They return to the center and we pause to take a look at Jardine's cut. After the restart Jardine stings Hamill with a jab. Jardine's blood is sprayed all down Hamill's back and all over his arms. We pause again to replace Jardine's mouth piece, and he exhales a fine mist of blood all over the mat. Hamill bulls Jardine back against the fence, but Jardine circles away. Jardine tries a couple of leg kicks in the final seconds, but neither man has a lot left. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 for Hamill.

Matt Hamill def. Keith Jardine via majority decision (29-27, 29-27, 28-28).
