Kerry Vera has been forced to withdraw from her Strikeforce Challengers bout against Juliana Pena due to an undisclosed injury, MMA Fighting has learned.As a result, Pena will not compete on the card. A replacement bout will be put on the televised portion of the card, but no word as to which one just yet.
Vera (2-0), the wife of UFC light heavyweight Brandon Vera, made her Strikeforce debut in November, defeating Kim Couture via first round TKO.
Pena (2-0), nicknamed "The Venezuelan Vixen," was scheduled to make her Strikeforce debut on the card.
Strikeforce Challengers VIII will take place May 21 from the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore. The event, which will air on Showtime, is headlined by Matt Lindland vs. Kevin Casey.
