Whoa, strong words coming from Jon Jones...especially at the very end when he says he wants to knock Vera out because "he's disrespectful and full of himself."
Can someone tell me why Jones says this about Vera?
Anyhow, can't wait for this fight. That was uncharacteristic of Jones at the weigh-in. We'll see if that's a good or bad thing for him. Has Vera gotten under his skin. Time will tell.....
I like both of these guys. I want both to succeed. It seems like 20010 has all of my fav mma'ers pitted against each other. Arghhh!
I'm definitely going with Jon Jones, of New York in this one...by tko.
The only thing I can think of is he is referring to the countdown show when Vera basically said Jones hadn't fought anyone worth a damn in the UFC and that Vera thinks the UFC is doing him a favor by matching him up against Jones. Personally, I think Jones has gotten a little full of himself and seems to be cracking under the pressure of being the main event headliner. It's to much to fast for Jones. I'm almost expecting him to get caught now even though I wouldn't dare pick against him in this or any fight.
Agree with both of ya'll. Any disrespect I saw yesterday came from Bones. Vera has been humble as of late, and critical of where he is in the LHW division and what he needs to do to win. If Bones thinks Vera is disrespectful, he's probably being oversensitive. Hopefully, this won't mess with his composure in the cage.
good point audit. getting worked up too early can drain you, then you try to force things. i don't think in this case its the deciding factor. vera has the more techinically sound muay thai, jones needs to win this with pressure, which i think he's bringing in bunches.
i cant wait for tonight this whole card is great and its free i think jones is going to lose tonight
Meh, well, I'm going for Jones in this one. If he does happen to lose, however, let's just hope it's an ACTUAL loss, and not some B.S. DQ. Has Mazagatti been stripped of his license yet? Worst. Ref. Ever.
It is hard to choose a winner in this fight!! i mean Vera just hasnt been as good since his lost to Tim Sylvia but maybe he could pull something!!! Then you got Jonny Bones Jones a young kid lookin to make a name off of Vera if he didnt make a name off of Hamil!! so i see this going either way!!
Jones = weak mind. The punk is cracking pre-fight and will most likely crack mid-fight when Vera unleashes hell on him. Remember, Jones' frustration during a fight he was WINNING caused him to lose.
Jones' DQ loss was an actual loss. He agreed to the rules before the fight. There are only two choices: 1. He didn't know the rules of the fight. This equals stupidity. 2. He knew the rules and unnecessarily chose to break them. This resulted in a loss in a fight that his fans agreed he was winning. This equals stupidity.
If Vera wins, look for Jones to spiral out of control with more weigh-in/press meltdowns and possibly threatening a ref when things don't go his way.
stone now that the fight is over and jones dominated vera what do you have to say for yourself. jones is a beast and he is the future of the LHW division. Yes he did throw illegal elbows against hamel but Mazagatti is a retard it wasnt the elbow that stopped the fight it was his shoulder so it should have been 1 point off not a DQ fight was over way before the illegal elbows.
