Fast-rising welterweight Dan Hornbuckle has signed with American Top Team, the MMA camp announced on Twitter Thursday morning. Hornbuckle, who recently signed with Bellator and will face Sean Pierson in the first round of the organization's welterweight tournament April 22, had previously spent most of his time training out of Team Solid/Goshin Jitsu in Champagne, Ill. Nicknamed "The Handler," Hornbuckle enjoyed a breakout 2009 campaign, as he defeated Joe Alexander, Akihiro Gono and Nick Thompson all via impressive knockout.
The 29-year-old enters the tournament with a 19-2 pro MMA record.
Training at ATT in Coconut Creek, Fla., will only help improve Hornbuckle's game, as it is the home to some of the best fighters in the world: Thiago Alves, Mike Brown, Thiago Silva, JZ Cavalcante, Jorge Santiago and Hector Lombard are just a few of the big names who train at ATT.
Below is a look at Hornbuckle's vicious head kick KO against Gono at Sengoku - Ninth Battle in August.

I really, really like Dan Hornbuckle & I hope he is in a major org (UFC or SF) by year end. He also did a great interview on MMA Junkie Radio the other day.
How do these gyms work anyway? Hearing that he "signed" with the gym made me curious. Is it just like a membership fee for using the facilities, or is it much more complicated than that? Can you come and go as you please from a gym in order to train with a different set of fighters?
I think with Hornbuckle being a pro MMA fighter, He agrees to a certain percent of his purse to his various trainers in the camp.
i would like to kwon what is the fee to enroll in your academy.
thaks
