Four new fights have been added to next month's World Extreme Cagefighting event, with the promotion announcing Friday that Chan Sung Jung vs. Cub Swanson, Tyler Toner vs. Brandon Visher, Brad Pickett vs. Demetrious Johnson. and Takeya Mizugaki vs. Rani Yahya will be on the WEC 48 fight card.
Jung is a 22-year-old making his WEC debut. Although most of his wins have come by submission, he's also an excellent striker who has kickboxed professionally; if the video above looks familiar it's because we discussed it here once before. He's a great addition to the WEC's featherweight division, and he'll get a tough first test in Swanson.
Visher is a very impressive 25-year-old with a 13-0 record. Toner, also making his WEC debut, has a pro record of 9-1 and his only loss is to the WEC's Scott Jorgensen.
Pickett, who signed with the WEC late last year, is currently on an eight-fight winning streak. Johnson is 5-0 and making his WEC debut.
Mizugaki participated in one of the best fights of 2009 in his unanimous decision loss to Miguel Torres, although he's looked less impressive since then. Yahya is coming off a loss to Joseph Benavidez.
The four fights are expected to be part of the non-televised undercard, but could make the pay-per-view card if time permits. The fights that have already been announced for WEC 48 are:
Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber
Ben Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone
Mike Brown vs. Manvel Gamburyan
Anthony Njokuani vs. Shane Roller
Damacio Page vs. Antonio Banuelos
