Nick "The Goat" Thompson will look to end a two-fight losing streak against M-1 Challenge standout Eduardo Pamplona at the Shine Fights 3 pay-per-view event on May 15 in Fayetteville, N.C.
Pamplona (12-2) out of Brazil is currently riding a string of seven straight wins, three last year with M-1 Challenge. His last loss was in February 2007 in a superfight against Robbie Lawler in the IFL.
Thompson (38-12-1)'s career took a hit last summer when he suffered back-to-back losses to Tim Kennedy and Dan Hornbuckle in Strikeforce and Sengoku, respectively. Thompson holds wins against Paul Daley, Eddie Alvarez, Chris Wilson and Josh Neer.
Shine Fights 3 is headlined by Ricardo Mayorga facing Din Thomas and also includes Murilo "Ninja" Rua against Falaniko Vitale.

i was expecting big things from the goat after this fight. take nothing away from alvarez, imo he's the #2 iw in the world. i realy liked this fight and thought the 5 rope ring was really really cool. i really prefer the ring over the cage, i would rather see fighters roll off the ropes and keep the fight standing, but the cage leads to more clinches and often turns standup fights into wrestling matches because the cage isn't forgiving when a fighters back is to it.
well i'm looking forward to some good fights from shine. hope things go great for them.
