Cung Le: 'I'm Hoping to Get a Rematch With Scott Smith ASAP'

If Cung Le has it his way, the former Strikeforce middleweight champion would like the opportunity in his next fight to avenge the only loss of his career.

"I"m hoping to get a rematch with Scott Smith ASAP," Le said in the above video on the Strikeforce website.

Le, who entered his fight last December at Strikeforce: Evolution with an undefeated record in both MMA and kickboxing, suffered his first defeat, falling prey to Smith's heavy hands and another one of his incredible come-from-behind victories. Despite dominating nearly the entire fight, Le was taken out with a left hook at 3:25 of the final round.

"I've been training hard," Le said. "Since my last fight didn't work out the way I wanted it to, but I've been training hard to make sure there's a different outcome next time around."

Le hinted at a possible announcement during Strikeforce's second event on CBS, which happens next month in Nashville, Tenn.

"I'm going to save my news until we have something announced," Le said. "Maybe we'll announce it April 17 at that fight. So right now, I"m training hard, and I'll be back in the cage real soon."
