Thiago Alves has only lost twice since 2006. That's two losses in nine fights. And those are the only two losses that are currently on "The Pitbull's" mind these days. First things first, avenge his Ultimate Fight Night 5 loss to Jon Fitch at UFC 111 on March 27. Then, the American Top Team says he is ready for another shot at welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, who defeated him via unanimous decision at UFC 100. MMA Fighting recently caught up with Alves to talk about his recent injury, which forced him to pull out of a UFC 107 fight against Fitch, the lessons he learned in the loss to GSP and a potential fight against Paul Daley in the future. Check out the video interview below.

I like Alves a lot. I think he has a bright future ahead of him. He will hold the WW title one day.
I agree. It might have to wait until GSP goes up in weight but it will happen.
As long as Thiago doesn't come into the fight seriously injured or has difficulty making weight, I see him steam-rolling John Fitch this time around. I don't see Fitch being able to take Thiago down because he doesn't have the same explosive takedowns that GSP has. It's gonna be a stand up battle and Thiago's gonna dissect him on the feet. Early 3rd round KO victory for Thiago.
A few moments where Thiago out strikes and hurts him, but Fitch grinds out a decision. Fitch needs to stick to his bread and butter here. He can't listen to the boos and strike with him or he's done.
+1
Alves also said he would knock out GSP. He needs to stop making predictions and just fight. Fitch will beat him pretty easily in my opinion. He'll grind it out to a 3 round decision. Fitch is a beast.
I hate 3 round grinding
agreed.
I also believe that Fitch has the wrestling powers to lay and pray another victory. Alves is going to have to get a lucky KO to win this fight but its possible.
What are you talkin about. Alves loss two fights. There is only one fight other than GSP that he loss. There really isn't much to say about loosing when those are the odds, so get your numbers straight and let the big boys do the statistics. Alves in second round 3rd minute..
When you look at the number of times alves loss you really don,t have much to discuss. Let the numbers speak for a second. If you are a fighter on the bigscreen score cards and you have won 9 fights and loss 2 that is a 78% win record an average. Darn in school a 78% is C+ . Enough, so jennifer Lopez says in her movie: Abuse is abuse anyway you look at it. But this is MMA..
