Former 'Power Rangers' Star Jason David Frank Wins MMA Debut

Jason David Frank, best known for playing Green/White ranger on the '90s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series, won his MMA debut this past weekend at a "Lonestar Beatdown" show in Houston, Texas.

Overcoming opponent Jonathon Mack's punches and a takedown, Frank, a Gracie Barra BJJ blue belt, slapped on an omoplata for the first-round finish. Video of the full fight is above (language NSFW).

Frank, 36, began his martial arts training in karate and has trained MMA with UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard.

When Frank signed with management company Sucker Punch Entertainment for his MMA debut, Frank told writer Phil Lanides that he first looked for a fight in 2007.

"I know I have a target on my back," Frank said. "Everyone is going to want to beat up the Green Ranger. But I am no Kimbo. I've been training for a very long time. I wanted to get in there before, but I got injured. But I'll be ready when the time comes."

Frank is also the founder and owner of the Jesus Didn't Tap clothing line.
