Strikeforce Live Blog: Bobby Lashley vs. Wes Sims Updates

This is the live blog for Bobby Lashley vs. Wes Sims, a heavyweight bout on tonight's Showtime card..

Former WWE champion and current TNA pro wrestler Lashley looks to improve to 5-0 in his Strikeforce debut against UFC veteran Sims, who accepted this fight on one week's notice.

The live blog begins below.

Round 1: Sims, who himself has a background in pro wrestling, raises his left arm as to signal for a tie-up. Sims jabs. Lashley takes Sims down with a double-leg at 4:21 and throws rapid right hands. Sims motions for an armbar but closes his guard to stop Lashley from trying to pass to side. Lashley pounds away. Sims gives up his back and Lashley pounds away some more for the referee stoppage.

Sims complains about the stoppage. CompuStrike stats show Lashley landed 34 of 37 ground strikes.

Lashley wins by TKO - Round 1, 2:06
