This is the UFC 108 live blog for Martin Kampmann vs. Jacob Volkmann, a welterweight bout on the Spike TV card.

Both fighters will look to avoid back-to-back losses. Kampmann recently fell out of title contention with an upset loss to Paul Daley at UFC 103, while Jacob Volkmann lost in his UFC debut in November against Paulo Thiago.

Round 1: Volkmann throws looping left punches followed by rights. Surprisingly, Volkmann is the aggressor on the feet and Kampmann is the one starting cautious. Volkmann, whose strikes aren't very crisp and his strength is in grappling, lands a few shots, but Kampmann counters and drops Volkmann. Volkmann quickly bounces to his feet. Volkmann reaches and connects with a right. Kampmann is cut on his left eye. Volkman charges in with left and rights and he's landing. But again, Kampmann drops him. Kampmann enters Volkmann's closed guard. Kampmann stands up and drops a right punch. Kampmann enters into half guard. Kampmann pounds with right punches and hammerfists. Volkmann turns into him and gets caught in a guillotine.
