Dan Hardy has his work cut out for him. Not only does he have to prepare for the toughest fight of his life against current UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, but he is also faced with the task of convincing the MMA community that he is a worthy contender who can defeat GSP at UFC 111 on March 27. Both will not come easy, but the confident Englishman seems up for the challenge. When "The Outlaw" spoke to fans at a question-and-answer session in Memphis, TN, earlier this month, he talked about being dismissed as a threat to GSP's throne, how he expects to defeat the champ, and his ongoing feud with Josh Koscheck. I have a good feeling about Hardy in this one. I think Hardy has the size, confidence, chin, and crisp punching to KO GSP. Alves was a big welterweight with great kicks, but Hardy is 3" taller and should be able to box effectively against GSP.
I think that sometime in the first couple rounds of this fight there will be a new champ at 170 in the UFC.
Nooo!!! hardy does have a lot of knockout power but he's still not as well rounded as GSP all GSP has to do is take him to the ground..
Eric you are dreaming. The only think GSP cannot do far better than Dan Hardy is to talk trash. Hardy will be on the receiving end of the beating of his life.

hardy is going to need to come off of it... its good to have confidence but I just dont think he has the tools to take on gsp... I think gsp will probably make it a short night for the kid
If GSP's muscle tear heals up alright, I think he's going to put on a clinic on Hardy. I don't think Hardy is well rounded enough or better than GSP and any single discipline.
if gsp is healed up good and he takes hardy down like he did with bj then hardy is in trouble and is going to get pounded ,if gsp stands up with hardy and tries to strike with hardy gsp is getting KOd

gsp is gonna pick him apart, then take him down...hell even hardy has said he knows gsp will be able to take him down....then gsp will finish with the ground or pound or slip a submission and make him tap like a bitch
Hardy is certainly a really good fighter, BUT, not as skilled, as strong, and all around persision fighter as GSP. No decision, just GSP again. Wanna bet?
Hardy is untested. He gets a title fight after Marcus Davis and Mike Swick. C'mon! He should have been lined up to fight Fitch, Koschek or Alves or any combination of the three.
Hardy may not know it yet, but he is being fed to the wolves by promoters.
I think Hardy is way in over his head b/c if you look at his two previous fights he won what I think was a controversial split decision against Marcus Davis and then he should've been DQ for hitting Swick in the back of the head. But he will lose to GSP and the get whupped by Koschek
I do not even know who the hell hardy is...I know GSP though. I thought Matt Hughs was God until GSP whooped his ass twice. Someone here sad that hardy is 3 inches taller than GSP...as though that matters. All this means is that hardy has 3 extra inches to gain momentum before hitting the canvass on his sure-to-be knockout dive.
Matt Hughs is the best wrestler to ever enter the octogon but GSP is the best athlete.
I didn't say Hardy is 3" taller than GSP ... I said that Hardy is 3" taller than Alves, and I think that will make an impact in this fight.

ok well Hardy is indeed a good fighter and striker, the difference coming into a fight with GSP is that GSP is the most talented pnd 4 pnd fighter today.GSP studies for months (while in training)videos of his compatition.
His trainer immitate there fighting style to the best. I would not say that GSP is going to take him out easily but in the end GSP'S arm will be raised and will still be the Champ @ 170lbs
Fitch, Koschek and Alves would all beat Hardy. He is not even in the top 5 at 170. How again did he get a title shot? Oh yeah that's right, his big mouth.
Hardy is going to get a beating of BJ Penn/Diego Sanchez proportion.
