Comments (Page 1 of 1)
a few comments,
first off - ariel, great as usual.
dana should have given props to dan lebatard for the whole tiger thing.
dana was on the lebatard radio show on friday pimping ufc 107.
when near the end of the interview lebetz, (dan lebatard), out of no-where threw the tiger question to dana. they had a cute banter for a little bit and lebetz was prodding dana to wear a shirt in support of tiger, dan wanted dana to have a t-shirt made with "free tiger" on it.
so i guess he choose a hat instead.
kudos to dan (lebetz) lebatard.
next - as much as i really don't care for him, bj penn, is without a doubt the best lw ever.
i didn't really care for the whole gsp crying thing and especially bringing his mommy to the nsac hearing. maybe if it was for tennis, but not for combat fighting.
other than that, i actually do like penn.
and i am glad he kicked sanchez's butt. for some reason diego really bugs me. maybe it is the combination of the yes crap, the jesus piousness crap, the i'm a badass look crap.....i don't know he really comes off as too full of himself. when and if he ever comes down to earth maybe i'll like him more. maybe...
it is totally apparent, unfortunately, that bj, gsp, and silva have no competition at their weight classes that they sort of have to attempt to move up for any realistic challenge.
last thing, mir has definately juiced on something, probably hgh because that is undetectable. and for the record, i totally don't blame him.
after all, lesner nor anyone else doesn't get to be the way (size) they are without some sort of pe's. sorry world, this is reality.
you don't put on 20-30lbs of solid muscle in a year eating protein bars.
however, and let me make this clear....you still have to be genetically pre-disposed to be able to achieve this as well. additionally, you still have to train your ass off and eat properly too.
i'm not bagging on him (mir), it's just an observation.
feel free to chime in and share your thoughts.
NEO - Usually I agree with your comments. However, first, to accuse Mir of juicing is disingenuous. Mir for once was on a strict weightlifting training regiment combined with a diet to increase muscle & strngth. Mir probably walks around close to 250Lbs. so weight training would not decrease his weight but instead increase his weight. Lesson 101 - Muscle ways more than fat! Have you ever lifted weights? If not try it! Spend 3 months lifting heavy and see if you bulk up and gain strength. The rest of Mir's training & diet keeps him lean!
Next - You state, "you don't balme him if he was juicing!" Come on these guys are warriors; they should not be juicing to gain an advantage over their opponents. Whatever happened to traditional HARD WORK?
@ted
You said that three months of heavy lifting will lead to an increase of 20-30 lbs of muscle. that is impossible without PEs. Yes, if you never have worked out and start a program you can see big gains fast, but when a guy is already walking aroung with a decent amount of muscle weighing 250, theres just no way he can see those increases. You say that neezoo should learn about lifting weights, I think you are the one who needs to learn. Im no expert, but ive been lifting for years and saw decent gains at the beginning, but now even being on a strict diet and lifting 2 hrs a day gaining 20 lbs of muscle would take ages. people are going to have to realize that almost all serious bodybuilders, athletes, fighters, etc are on at least hgh. hard work is admirable but it alone doesn't result in the kind of gains you're talking about
hey mike, thanks for the back-up.
ted, actually, if their is one thing i do know about it is weight training.
don't get me wrong i'm not a monster, but, i have trained most my life.
dude, i ain't saying it's impossible, i'm just saying my opinion is based on an educated guess.
mir, actually said that his weight training in the past was more bodybuilding than what he is doing now.
look, he knows lesner and all those other guys that look like that didn't do it naturally and he realizes he can't really compete with those pe atheletes with out joining the party. or at least trying it out.
sorry, this is just a dose of reality.
but like i said, you still have to train your ass off, diet and be
genetically pre-disposed to the gains.
here is another nugget for you, i've been noticing and saying for about a year now, that tiger woods has taken some sort of pe. and those claims are now coming to light. so i think i have a pretty good eye and intuition for this type of thing.
again, just call an educated intuition.
but, hey, i could be wrong.
Thank you, I said that yesterday. His ego was so destroyed by how easily Brock killed him he took something. I have experience with pe's and I can spot it a mile away. If Herb Dean Reffed the first fight Brock would have tko'd him, even so, Mir got destroyed, yet he still talks shit on Brock.Brock is sick. If he wasn't Mir wouldn't say a thing. He was so embarrassed he went to the juice.Im so sick of Mir's talking. Cain or Carwin would beat him.He talked bad about Brock being a muscle-freak before he got smashed, and he went and juiced his way up to try to compete with brock. He wouldnt have finished that choke without juice strenght. And if youve taken it you know what i mean. And its impossible to have the muscle gains and strengths gains he did in that period of time, and I guarentee Dana thinks he juiced up too.
I notice you A**holes say "JesusCrap" or other disparaging remarks about the saviour when ever a fighter invokes his name, and no one calls you on it. But if you said Allah crap or other dispariging things about this heathen god you'd get called on it. So for all of us christians who are real. Only Christ is God, and all the others are false gods. I'm looking forward to when he settles with all unbelievers.
You don't know Diego personally. No one knows any of these fighters personally, which goes to say, you shouldn't go saying things you don't really know about and if it's one person who is not on earth, it's you. All these fighters are in a sport where they are all bad asses and have the right to act like one. You try going out there and doing what they do, and maybe you'll see where they're coming from and why they act the way they do one screen. Who wants to see a quirky fighter coming out of their corner anyway. These fighters need a way to pump themselves up and get the crowd going. Show yourself on television as a bad ass fighter- go up against the best, and then say what you need to say. Otherwise, you need to keep your pessimistic comments to yourself.
This message is for Phil...
You forgot the Golden Rule in your response. Why is it that "real" Christians get so upset whenever you think somebody is questioning your religion? Religion should be questioned. As far as the comments on here, I too dislike it when atheletes thank Jesus. That's great that they believe but do they/you truly believe that Jesus has anything to do with their fighting abilities? That's just crazy talk.
oh, another thing,
i really like alan belcher and it sure looks as though the ufc is hedging towards creating a 195lb division.
He's sure come a ways. He even did great in his fight against Akiyama. I don't think he is ready for the elite yet, but who knows?
any one who's defending that, you could just imagine what you are going to find in that closet, here come the tabloids
dana white is right to the point. love his candor.
This guy should stick to what he does best, and not try to defend Tiger. If he just has a soft spot for Tiger I can understand, but don't try to make people believe that a celebrity shouldn't be talked about, that's what it's all about! When they have a baby (personal), we talk about it. When he buys a big yacht (personal), we talk about it. When he builds himself a beautiful new home (personal), we talk about it. So everything a celebrity does is newsworthy and is blasted all over the paper. That's part of the price they pay for being in that world. Now the bad stuff comes out and the pro Tiger camp wants the media to back off and keep this under wraps because that's "his personal business". Well sorry, you can't have it both ways, either you're life's an open book or it's hands off, it can't be pick and choose. For this guy to wear a Tiger baseball cap and say his position is to ask people to lay off Tiger, makes him look stupid and actually puts more attention on the very thing he's trying to have stop!!
i think silva will get more than challenged by vitor.
um anderson will be challenged by vitor? are u crazy? vitor comes in throwing hooks and nothing else. hmmm remind u of anyone i.e. Forrest Griffin. the only difference if vitor has for real hand speed and power, but anderson is just to quick, to smart for him to handle sorry
all sports at the highest level and mma is no exception to this have athletes that use steroids...hgh whatever you like...it comes with the territory ask yourself this?does a natural competitor have a chance agaisnt another competitor on gear?so how would they stay competitive?...how do the highest level athletes overcome injury so fast?is it because they are superfit they recover faster?yeah right?for every drug test theres a way to counter or cheat it...and hgh is hard to pick up because the body produces it naturally...now if drugs were taken from sport how much would performance decline?also look at the level of athlete now compared to 20 even ten years ago in all sports...do you believe humans evolve so fast they can knock seconds of track times?gain metres in there throws...train so much harder faster than before?is that normal?
also for those who think brock isnt juicing wake up yeah he has always been naturally big and strong explosive...but dont be naieve
until uve been in the cage or trained months for a fight u have no right to try to judge a fighter ive personally been fightin for over a year and i know wat its like yall say a fighter cant recovery from an injury as fast as they do witout juice thats a bunch of bull a the ppl that choose to do mma r true warriors and they are never full recovered from injuries but they push them selves to fight because thats wat they r so until uve been in the cage dont try to judge us
