yep, great as always...ariel.
to all the dana haters,
95% of the time i have ever seen dana he comes off genuine and gracious with his time.
once again, to me, he is very likable.
it seems all the haters ever want to do is nit-pick.
wallow and bath in your misery as being disgruntled is a choice one makes.
bottom-line is....jealousy, on the haters part.
kudos to dana, especially for his honesty concerning koshchek.
Personally, Neo I think Dana White needs to do less talking and more deliverance. The main problem I've been having with Dana White, is that he has been going off with bashing "2nd rate organizations" putting on "subpar events" which to a certain degree have been better especially in terms of excitement imo. On FREE TV. Even some of the UFC's better events were for free. I hate it when others will go and say something about the performance of others etc. when they themselves can do no better. Why try to promote rivalries with other organizations when the sport is still young? I understand it's business, but he only makes himself look like a fool sometimes. I think (just me) that the UFC has lost some of its luster this year, mainly with the PPV events. I PRAY that this will not be the beginning of a trend. Especially, since I was a huge fan just last year. I love the UFC and I hope that next year will be a lot less tumultuous. So much for my rant. What do you think?
As far as Josh Koshcheck and Dana White goes. Remember, there are two sides to every story.
hey m,
remember, i said 95% of the time.
yeah, i'm not a big fan when he starts ragging on the competition.
although, at the same time, he consistantly states he would love nothing more than to sign, "that fat little bald guy", (fedor).
for me, like i said i really like dana, i like his approachable down to earth style. i like how he speaks his mind and at the same time, I DO, realize he is a promoter.
as far as your assesment that sf is putting on more exiciting shows than ufc, if you feel that way than more power to you.
for me the most important judgement of watching any sport is drama and unpredictable outcomes.
that's why i hated ufc 101 and why i loved last nights show.
last nights card to me, was crap on paper, but turned out to be better than the last 5 ufc cards combined.
just because something is free or not doesn't make it a good or a bad card....for me.
as far as sf goes, i really like their challenger searies, and watching the baddest man on the planet is always awesome. however, i would prefer to see some realistic challenge for him, if that's even possible.
we all knew fedor would win and just because he got a bloody nose, fedor nuthuggers...were all ranting, "you see, you see, rogers is/was for real!"
and by the way, i too am a fedor fan.
i just wasn't impressed with sf's cbs card, too predictable for me.
and you know i completely hated the rua/machida fight and wish others would fight them both first.
however, if the fans are stupid enough to think that was a great fight with just a horribly judged outcome, than i'm not going to blame dana for trying to capitalize on that.
the ufc gives us alot of mma entertainment and keeps us interested and talking about it and i as an mma fan truly appreciate that.
putting on bad cards is going to happen.
that's why i love the wec because imo their cards have all been really good as of late.
like i said before, i thought last nights card was fantastic. kudos to all the fighters, even the ones that lost, they all fought with heart.
and kudos to the ufc for the ability to bring that out.
one last thing, check out my comment on the "kizer comments on karo" thread last page.
i bring up my thoughts on elbows to grounded opponents and am really curious your opinion.
I too think that the UFC 106 was one of the better UFC cards this year. I only wish all of them were like that. Or like the WEC's cards for that matter. Of course exciting events are not based on whether or not they're free. As I mentioned, some of the lesser stacked cards this year in UFC and other organizations were simply more exciting, which is ironic. I feel like I get robbed (as you must've felt) after awhile when I purchase events LIKE UFC 101 and that was quite a successful event on paper. The two main event fights (the predictable ones) along with that one preliminary fight were the only matches worth watching. That was my gamble though, and so were many other's for that matter. Since I take so long with "the more lengthy for me" comments, I will close it off here. By the way, I can't seem to find your comment that you mentioned.
Tito wasnt robbed, Forrest won that fight, tito just stood there in the 3rd round and took a beating.
until dana comes with a person that he can match fedor then all this is just nonsense!
sane
Another Fedor train rider....I believe Dana has an entire division for Fedor... unfortunately the "last emperor" refuses to sign in the UFC. Nobody cares about Fedor anymore....only on the nights the big boys are not fighting. Shane Carwin....Cain Velásquez...Brock Lesnar....Once the baby faced fat boy makes his way through a few of them...than you can jump back on Fedors kiddie train...
As a fan of UFC I see Mr. Dana White is a straightforward president. UFC is one of the most favorite sports now. It is fine,
That fight should have been held in a laundromat --two washouts! Dana White can blow all the bugles and blurt all the phony PR he wants -- but he's got NO ONE who can handle Fedor. Until he does, his boys are just paper tigers
fedor is garbage....all hes doing is using that co-promotional thing as an excuse not to sign with ufc. he knows that if he was to sign with the ufc that he wont be considered the #1 hw in the world....all he wants is the spotlight and the title of the #1 hw in any organization.....until fedor comes to the ufc; hes nothing....
Hop off the Fedor train....when he starts fighting top class fighter than you can jump back on. UFC rejects and freaks of nature are not "legend" maker material. There is a reason Fedor needs all the hype....he dodges fights....
The UFC is a business and Dana is doing a stellar job running it while still maintaining a grounded and respectable approach to his fans. Of course he's talking trash about the competition, that's par for the course. I personally enjoy the WEC fights a little more simply because they let the fighters work each other over more. It's less entertaining but more true to the sport. Dana and the UFC bring in money from the masses so that the other organizations can actually exist. What kind of retard watches fights and then whines about trash talk? Get your head out of the socialist punch bowl. When you can successfully put together multiple fighting organizations and help pioneer a new sport, you can do it sans all the trash talk you want. Disney needs a fighting association too.
Anybody can talk the talk. Personally, I don't need drama to make the fights more exciting, but that's just me. Some of the best fighters out there hardly talk crap anyway. And I'm not a socialist. :)
And by the way, if you wish to keep paying for some events that aren't so decent let alone good, be my guest.
On Fedor: I love the guy, but he's not bringing in the money. Kimbo Slice brings in more than Fedor.
You do all realize Dana owns the WEC, right? UFC is for the masses. WEC is for the hard core fans. WEC can only afford to operate because of the fan base that the UFC has built.
very well said,
are we related? lol.
Exactly. WEC is where the real stuff goes down.
I saw it comming in the third round.(the fix) I called it. forrest is danas boy tito was doing as told. I think tito messed up the first round and was suppose to lose that round (to make it look leggit) and he messed up so he had to completly throw the third round what three punches the other fighters on the card all fought like they were competing for fight of the night honors-bonus instead of to win (except koscheck of course he and dana dont get along he wont act for dana so they dont get along)quit trying to put on a good show dana this is not wrestling entertainment vince=dana your input is not needed. Dana as long as your not the one gettig hit stay out of it and let them fight. This one really stunk
give me this dana 365 days a year and i'll be a fan again. that was a good night of fights i'll say. good to see some good mma from ufc. and free. i still won't pay for them. dana, let's put the past behind us, and 'get back on the horse' and get these shows on network tv already. throw in the commercials and work out a fair deal so everybody makes their profits and the fans get what they want and everyone's happy.
