Cung Le hasn't fought since winning the Strikeforce middleweight title more than a year and a half ago, but he's finally planning to get back into the Strikeforce cage on Dec. 19.FanHouse's Ariel Helwani learned from a source close to the situation that Le has agreed to fight on the Dec. 19 card, which is being referred to as Strikeforce: Evolution. The card will take place in San Jose and air on Showtime.
Le, who has a professional MMA record of 6-0, has been focusing on acting instead of fighting over the last year and a half, and there's been talk that he might be done with fighting completely. But now he's finally read to return to the cage.
What still isn't known is the identity of Le's opponent. One possibility is Scott Smith, who told me he's on the December 19 card and he'd like to face Le. But in addition to Smith, Strikeforce apparently has two other possible opponents in the mix. Whoever the opponent is, Le is one of the most exciting fighters in the sport, and it'll be nice to have him back in the cage.

The most overrated fighter in the world after Fedor. This guy may be even worse. At least Fedor fights freaks. This guy fights movie characters. Maybe strickeforce should match him up against Fedor.
Frykland and Frank Shamrock are cartoon characters? Say that to their faces!
Cung is an exciting fighter and i like to watch him but i think he is more hype than anything and everyone seems content to trade punches/kicks with him like its K1. All it takes is someone who is willing to take him down or just keep the distance minimal and stay too close for those flashy kicks. I'd love to see him against Shields though.
Maybe, but Shamrock tried to take him down on 4 occasions and never could wrangle him to the ground. The guy is an undefeated San Shou kickboxing champion (maybe the best ever) and assuming he has no ground game is probably a little premature since no one has ever been able to take him down and keep him there.
A dream match would be Cung Le fighting George St Pierre!!
this has me all excited. nick diaz, scott smith, anyone who will trade with him is gonna make for a very exciting dec 19 card. i really didn't expect strikeforce to come up like this, they're takin it to the house. so much quality mma for the real fans.
Is he still fighting the kung fu with scissor kick take down matches? ESPN 2 showed that crap about 4 times a night for a year.
I love his stand up style. The only question of course is whether or not he'll be exposed on the ground.
