Marriage is a life-changing event, and tying the knot especially a month before a fight could be a considered a distraction, but Fedor Emelianenko insists that his recent marriage will have no effect on his focus coming into the fight, negative or positive."I don't think my marriage will affect anything in any way," Fedor told reporters Monday on a media call five days before his CBS main event fight against undefeated Brett Rogers.
Fedor married his girlfriend of three years, Marina, the first weekend of October in his hometown of Stary Oskol, Russia. Photos from wedding can be viewed here.
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua is a notable fighter who got married three weeks before his UFC debut and lost to Forrest Griffin at UFC 76 in September 2007, though a knee injury contributed to the loss, according to Rua.
Rogers agreed on the call with Fedor, who was previously married in 1999 before separating in 2006, that the former PRIDE champion's experience both as a husband and fighter will allow for Fedor to properly prepare without a wrinkle.
"I doubt it. He's been a fighter for a long time," said Rogers, when asked if Fedor's marriage is a sign he might be taking the fight lightly. "As far as I'm concerned, this is not his first marriage. He's kind of a been there, done that kind of dude with that situation."

I am convinced that Fedor is going to be knocked out by Rogers.
I hope his focus is on the fight. It should be good fight.
Subtle excuses already....lol
Even his fans are already making excuses. I personally think Rogers is such a joke that even Fedor should be able to beat him. Of course, if Fedor is knocked out, us REAL MMA fans can discuss more important things. And best of all, when Fedor is out of the picture, Mousasi can make his move to heavyweight. Though that could a few years. If Fedor loses, he is out of top 25 pound for pound.
You guys are the ones continually beating the drum and stirring the hornets nest. For what reason ... thats the $64,000 question. No one is forcing you guys to engage in Fedor discussion. Your taking it upon yourselves to do that.
Everyone says Fedor is going to get knocked out every fight he's in ... and it still hasn't come to pass.
What are the subtle excuses again? He said it's not going to be a problem just like he said the cage won't be a problem. You know what the difference is with people like me and people like you? I don't really care who wins I just want a good fight. If the fight goes to a decision, Rogers obviously won the action (like I felt Rua did against Machida) and Fedor gets the decision you'll hear me saying the same things I did about Rua & Machida. I don't have a dog in the fight as I actually like both of these guys equally.
In terms of heavyweights I put Rogers in there with Lesnar, Carwin and Velasquez as sort of green guys with impressive skills but they haven't been tested. If Rogers does beat Fedor I think you have to consider him as one of the best HW's in the world. If Fedor win's he's still the best in the world. Anyway I'll put Noguiera and Fedor as the two best HW's in all of MMA and those other guys I mentioned in the next category.
add Dos Santos to the list of good up and comers with Carwin, Rogers & Lesnar. Duffee could be up there soon as well as he looks like the real deal.
I LIVE IN CHICAGO. WILL THE FEDOR-ROGERS FIGHT OR LETS SAY THE ENTIRE STRIKE FORCE VENUE BE AVAILABLE ON CHANNEL 2 OR WILL IT HAVE TO BE SEEN ONLY BY PAY PER VIEW??? I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF SOMEONE COULD LET ME KNOW.
