UFC 104 Live Blog: Ryan Bader vs. Eric Schafer Round-by-Round Updates

This is the UFC 104 live blog for Ryan Bader vs. Eric Schafer, a light heavyweight bout on the Spike TV card.

The Ultimate Fighter 8 winner Bader will look to wrestle his way towards 11 straight wins when he takes on Schafer, the dangerous grappler out of Duke Roufus' gym.

Round 1: Bader lands a couple good rights early. Bader more active of the two early bouncing around the cage. Bader floors him with a big right about midway through and follows him to the ground. Bader unleashes as Schafer tries to hang in. Bader hammers him, unafraid of Schafer's jiu-jitsu pedigree. Schafer takes some hard shots but survives the onslaught. They get back up, but Bader slams him down again. Schafer looks for a kimura but Bader pulls out. Shafter then tries an oma plata. Bader pulls his arm out and then gets back to his feet as the round ends. FanHouse scores the round 10-9 for Bader.

Round 2: Bader gets poked in the eye in the early seconds and takes a timeout to recover. Schafer lands his best punch of the fight with a straight right. Bader looks a bit tired as Shafer lands a few jabs. Shafer is making him miss a lot more this round and Bader's handspeed has lost some steam. With 90 seconds left, Shafer connects with a left hook. Bader tries a takedown with about 20 seconds left, but is stuffed. Shafer connects with a hard right in the final seconds. FanHouse scores the round 10-9 for Shafer.

Round 3: Bader hammers Shafer with an overhand right that staggers him and drops him. Bader follows him to the ground and tries to finish but Shafer survives again. The ref calls time to check Shafer's bloody face, but the fight goes on. 2:30 left. Bader goes for a takedon with 90 seconds left and gets it. He moves to side control with one minute left, but Shafer squirms enough to stop any offense. The round ends and FanHouse scores it for Bader 10-9, which should give him the fight.

Winner: Bader by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-26, 30-27)
