LOS ANGELES -- At Thursday's UFC 104 press conference, Dana White once again voiced his displeasure over the fact that Fedor Emelianenko is not fighting Brock Lesnar in the Octagon next, but rather Brett Rogers in a Strikeforce cage. White also said he wouldn't be surprised if Rogers knocked out Emelianenko.
"You know what scares me about the Brett Rogers fight? Brett Rogers might knock him out," White said.
Check out the video of White talking the media about Emelianenko vs. Rogers below. (Warning: video contains some explicit language.)

I think I should beat some better guys than an overrated Frank Mir who's just a product of the UFC hype machine or a geriatric Randy Couture before I should be mentioned with top heavyweights like Fedor.
you know, yea he should be, but hes not.. when he first signed with SF ppl were in an uproar then we all stopped talking about it then crocop comes out bringing it up again which caused everybody to talk about it again, now that its died down, guess what, THEY BRING IT UP AGAIN!!! no use crying over spilled milk...
no but i wish brett rogers would knock dana tfo
Let me start by saying - I'm a HUGE fan of Fedor. He exemplifies what being a fighter is all about. His confidence, technique, and humility are unmatched IMO.
That being said, I think Fedor will lose in SF. Probably not against Rogers, but maybe against Overeem or who knows maybe even against Mousasi who will likely move up over his next few fights.
Many will see Fedor lose and say that he was overrated and was never really that good, but I will view the loss as being inevitable. GSP losing to Serra, Anderson losing to Chonan, etc ... it happens.
I'd love to think that Fedor will plow through the SF heavyweights and then join the UFC, but lets be honest ... at 33, Fedor only has a few fights left in his prime. Those fights will take place in SF, and we will never see a prime Fedor against UFC heavyweights. Personally I don't think it's necessary for Fedor to fight in the UFC to be considered the greatest HW of all time, but most would disagree with me.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this exactly ... guess I'd just like to see the constant Fedor talk go away. It distracts from the MMA landscape.
At 33 Fedor only has a few fights left in his prime? That's your expert opinion?
He's only a year older than Brock Lesnar and a couple years younger than Anderson Silva. With not a lot of damage to his body so far in his career.
He's at the peak of his prime right now, and if he does get clipped by Rogers and get upset his age won't be the reason. Upsets happen.
i agree Eric, except this is the fight i think he loses, i have a feeling its gonna be like Rogers/Arlovski, and even if he loses his record would be 30-2-1 i still wouldnt call that over rated, that would be like saying Miguel Torres is over rated after the Bowels fight.
eric, eric...
i'll remember you're anaylsis.
and use it against you in the future.
the only disadvantage for fedor is the cage. i like rogers chances, but fedor is no where near his last fight, unless he decides he has sincerely nothing more to prove. mousasi will no way fight HW. WHY ON EARTH??
and as long as dana talks sh*t about fedor and strikeforce there's always gonna be talk about it. fedor is the best mma fighter ever. is that overrating him?? well, it's true.
Pipsqeek - Mousasi has already said he will fight at heavyweight ... do a little research before you correct people. Did I say that Fedor only had a few fights left? No. Stop looking for someone to argue with and start making intelligent analyses of your own.
Miguel - Because of his size, wrestling, and short fighting career Brock's Prime will be completely different. As for Anderson, he's in the same boat as Fedor ... speed is one of the first things to go with age. Because of Randy people think that fighters can have long careers, but let's be honest ... even Randy has been past his prime for the last 6 years.
eric i'd love to have an intelligent conversation in regards to a fighters prime, but when you say fedor's is near or past his prime i don't think we can.
you see eric what happens to fighters when they are past their prime is their reflexes don't respond as quickly and naturally as they did before taking years of repeated blows to the head. remember fighting is mostly mental. when you look at fedor's career he's never been ko'd. i've only seen one fight that he got rocked and it was unbelievable how quickly he recovered. he didn't do the typical hold on for dear life. he did what few fighters can do. he dug down deep and the warrior in him took over. he won the fight, very impressive. the guy has hardly any miles and can go for as long as he doesn't rack up concussions on top of concussions and so on. look at b-hop- untouched. that's fedor. his physical condition is superior. he can fight at his prime level for years because he's that good. but after 30+ pro fights and saying he has nothing to prove, you have to wonder when he says thats enough. has nothing to do with age, speed, whatever.
Yeah no kidding Mousasi has said he was eventually moving up to heavyweight, but if you think he'll ever fight Fedor you're the one who ought to do a little research. Fedor and Mousasi have a strong bond.
You have about as much chance of seeing Anderson Silva go against Machida.
In other words it's not gonna happen.
Fedor and Gegard is way more likely to happen than Machida/Silva. I think in the future we'll more than likely see a M-1 Global Event with Fedor/Mousasi headlining than UFC event with Silva/Lyoto, the exhibtion match at Breakthrough shows they may be willing to meet in friendly competition. Besides we know it will end with Fedor by Submission sometime late in the first or early second. Also Soares has repeatedly said there will be no Team Blackhouse superfight.
Upsets can happen, but after watching each and every one of Fedor's fights that are available on-line, just can't see Brett Rodgers being the one to end Emelianenko's win streak. Until Brett fought Arlovski, he had not fought any top level opponents, and even when he did, he faced an ex-UFC champ obviously past his maximum effectiveness in the ring.
Couldn't agree more with Dana White's statement: there is no more formidable match available in any heavyweight division for Fedor than Brock Lesnar. Lesnar has inspired more opinions than anyone in the history of the sport except perhaps for Fedor, but the opinion that can't be disputed is that Brock is the UFC heavyweight champion. There is no other organization that can compare in depth or experience to the UFC, even though their champion has only five fights, but he wears the belt, which he earned against veteran champions Randy Couture and Frank Mir. Emelianenko/Lesnar would be the undisputed heavyweight championship of MMA; it's just a shame that the business end of promotion will not at present allow this match to take place, and unfortunately, it's likely it never will.
