UFC Fight Night 19: Nate Quarry Beats Tim Credeur by Decision

In a tremendously exciting MMA fight on Spike TV, Nate Quarry beat Tim Credeur by unanimous decision in a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle at UFC Fight Night 19.

In the first round Credeur floored Quarry with a hard punch, went to the ground and got Quarry's back, appearing close to finishing the fight with a rear-naked choke. But Quarry got out of the choke and got back to his feet, surviving the round with a badly bloodied nose. It was a dominant round for Credeur.

The second round started with a furious pace, as Credeur landed a couple of strikes and a kick and looked like he was about to win the fight -- only to have Quarry come back, knock Credeur down and pounce on top of him. For most of the rest of the round Quarry was on top, although Credeur was doing a good job controlling Quarry in guard, and even landing some hammer fists from the bottom.

The third round started much the same way as the second, with Credeur immediately landing several strikes, only to have Quarry drop him with one hard punch. Again, Credeur spent most of the round on his back, and although he did a good job of controlling Quarry in guard and landing strikes from his back, Quarry did enough to win the round.

The judges scored it 29-28, 29-27 and 29-28 for Quarry. It's hard to see how one judge gave one round to Quarry by a score of 10-8, but the decision was the right one: Both fighters were great, but Quarry earned a great win.
