In the main event, Tim Kennedy (11-2) takes on undefeated Zak Cummings (10-0) in a middleweight bout. Kennedy is coming off a convincing win over Nick "The Goat" Thompson at the last Strikeforce Challengers event in June, and his only loss in the last eight years was a decision against Jason "Mayhem" Miller in 2007. Cummings is an up-and-comer who drew a little attention in February when he won a split decision over UFC veteran Terry Martin.
Veteran K-1 kickboxer Ray "Sugarfoot" Sefo (1-0 MMA), who has been rounding out his skills as a member of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, will try MMA again in a heavyweight fight against two-time UFC competitor Kevin Jordan (11-7).
Zach Light (6-8), who has of late found more success as a trainer and coach than fighter, will return to the cage to snap a three-fight losing streak in a welterweight bout against Tyron Woodley (5-0).
The Showtime card will open with a pair of 4-0 fighters Thomas Longacre facing Travis Calonoc in a catchweight bout at 147 pounds.
A fighter on the undercard to keep an eye on is Paul Bradley (11-1), a member of Team Rampage on The Ultimate Fighter 7 and a four-time All-American NCAA wrestler. He'll take on local fighter Levi Avera out of Team Nogueira Tulsa.
Strikeforce Challengers will air live on Showtime at 11:00 p.m. ET.
