UFC President Dana White and former UFC champ Tito Ortiz took to Twitter Friday to say they've put their longstanding feud with behind them, leading to widespread speculation that Ortiz could return to the Octagon, possibly as soon as UFC 103 in September.

First White tweeted on his Twitter page, "Yes tito and I made up." And then Ortiz tweeted the following on his Twitter page:
yeah, me and @danawhiteufc made up. I'm expecting to be inside the Octagon again soon. thanks for the support guys - I appreciate it
White, however, tweeted again, to say this:
Doesn't mean he's back it means we aren't smashing each other anymore and we don't hate each other.
So what does it mean? We've already noted that UFC 103 needs a main event, and bringing Ortiz back into the Octagon to fight someone like Rich Franklin would qualify. Ortiz fighting at UFC 103 strikes me as the most likely conclusion to draw from these tweets. And I've already seen a lot of MMA fans writing on Twitter that they're expecting to see Ortiz on September 19 in Dallas.

But we should also note that Ortiz has a long history of claiming he's on the verge of signing a new contract, only to back out at the last minute. So until the UFC formally announces that Ortiz is back, nothing is certain. But the mere fact that Dana says he doesn't hate Tito anymore is big news.

UPDATE: On her own Twitter page, Ortiz's longtime girlfriend Jenna Jameson suggests that the Ortiz tweet was written by a Twitter impostor.
