After UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre dominated Thiago Alves at UFC 100, there's increasing talk that it could be time for St. Pierre to move up from welterweight to challenge middleweight champion Anderson Silva. But Silva's manager doesn't think that fight makes much sense.
"I mean, I guess anything is possible," manager Ed Soares said when asked by Fox Fight Game whether a GSP-Silva fight could be coming soon. "Anything is possible. You know, if that's what the fans want to see, then maybe. But, uh, anything can happen, but I think that's a tough fight for GSP, man."
That's not exactly a ringing endorsement of a Silva-GSP fight from Soares, and frankly, I don't blame him. As great as St. Pierre is, I have a very hard time seeing him moving up and beating Silva, who would have a huge reach advantage over St. Pierre and probably walks around at about 25 pounds heavier than St. Pierre. A battle with Silva would be a very, very tough fight for GSP.

It would be interesting. Unfortunately, I think we're quite a way from seeing a legitimate challenge to GSP at 170.
I'd personally love to see him test 185, as Silva has done at 205. A fighter has to have goals or he'll get bored, and GSP is making 170 look like it's too easy for him.
It is wrong for a man have a rich woman or a woman have a wealthy man?
It is an absolutely extramarital relationship. but more and more services come out on Internet focusing on this kind of relationship.
such as http://www.meetingrich.com
it's the biggest dating site for wealthy and suclessful people.
i'd much rather see GSP cut weight and put another beating on Penn. GSP isnt big enough to fight successfully at 185, but he could hold two belts at the same time, the LW & WW belts. Plus i would like to hear Penn's excuses when GSP pounds him for a 3rd time.
Anderson Silva will still be cutting weight to make 205, he's plenty big enough for the division.
GSP vs Silva is not a good fight.
richardbikle,
Couldn't agree more, love to watch GSP and Silva display their skills and talents, but not against each other Silva has to much size & reach for GSP. Silva should move up and stay in the LHW div. I think he will just keep dominating the MW... But thats just my opinion.
after gsp beats swick/kampmann the ufc should give him time to bulk up and he could fight silva at 180. silva weighed in at 182 for his last fight so its possible. the worst part of silvas game has been takedown defense so... could be interesting.

Yeah, maybe then GSP will then know what it's like to be BJ Penn. Time for GSP to man up like Penn always does and go for it.
I am so glad SOMEBODY said it!
You've got to be kidding right? BJ Penn is an embarrassment to the sport; whining with his mommy to the athletic commission, and now making accusations that GSP is on steroids. Bitch please! BJ got his Mooka-loki-he-he ass handed to him in a coconut, and needs to man up and admit defeat...............TWICE!!
