Women's MMA Show on Eve of UFC 100

With UFC 100 taking place on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Events Center and the UFC Fan Expo going on as well, there may well be more MMA fans in Las Vegas this weekend than have ever congregated in one place in American history. Those fans will be looking for something to do on Friday night, and I think it was a brilliant decision for Tuff-N-Uff, an amateur MMA organization, to give them something: An all-female MMA card at the Orleans Arena.

The fighters on the card aren't big names by any stretch of the imagination (the main event is Barb Honchak vs. Meegan Thomas), but it should be a fun live show, and it'll even include a female referee, Kim Winslow, who is the only female ref in UFC history. (Lenne Hardt, the ring announcer who narrates the above video and whose voice is well known to Japanese MMA fans, will, unfortunately, not be in attendance.)

If you're going to Vegas for UFC 100, tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. I'll be there, and I'm expecting to see a good show.
