Bellator X Video: Joe Soto Beats Yahir Reyes, Wins Featherweight Belt

Bellator Fighting Championships crowned its first champion Friday at Bellator X, when Joe Soto submitted Yahir Reyes in the featherweight tournament final. Bellator, which has done a great job of using YouTube to promote its fighters, has now posted some of the highlights in the above video.

It was a great run through the featherweight tournament for Soto, who beat Ben Greer by first-round TKO in the opening round and beat pre-tournament favorite Wilson Reis by unanimous decision in the semifinals.

Soto isn't quite in my featherweight Top 10 just yet, but he's a well-rounded 22-year-old with a 7-0 career record, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does next. I hope Bellator has some tough opponents ready for him in its fall season.
